Comics is the art of bodies drawing bodies - a question so obvious that it has long been overlooked. The body is the beginning, the engine and the essence of every story told in pictures.
In their material reality, bodies challenge all forms of binary ideology, and comics - with its natural inclination towards mixing and transforming - is the perfect language to explore them.
Placing the body at the core of the matter is the goal of this edition of BilBOlbul. All the artists involved have reflected on the representation of bodies - whether erotic, comic, political . They used them to talk about themselves in autobiography, to imagine hopeful or dystopian futures in science-fiction, to rewrite literary genres and deconstruct the imagination.
