Every comic begins with the drawing of a body. With their unique way of intertwining time and space, comics have a natural tendency to mixing images and bodies, and make them fluid.

Émilie Gleason uses comedy to describe the daily life of a boy with autism. Rikke Villadsen draws bodies in perpetual transformation, in a relentless game of symbols that dismantles stereotypes. Nicoz uses journals as a tool of soul-searching and as a magnifying glass to look at the world, and how we inhabit it. Alice Socal captures the fragile substance of relationships in hallucinated visions, embodying all things impalpable: the sadness for the end of a love story, the fear of growing up, the experience of motherhood.

Four contemporary cartoonists draw and tell bodies using different styles, genres, and visions - all united by a will to defy stereotypes and challenge our gaze.
