Giorgio Vasta
Giorgio Vasta is an Italian writer. His debut novel, Il tempo materiale (minimum fax, 2009) has been translated in 11 countries and was nominated for the 2009 Strega Award, won the Ulysses Award in France for Best Debut Novel and the Città di Viagrande Award. His short stories have been published in anthologies Best off 2006 and Voi siete qui (2007) and in the collection I persecutori (Transeuropa, 2007). He published Spaesamento (Laterza, 2010), Presente (Einaudi, 2012, with Andrea Bajani, Michela Murgia and Paolo Nori) and Absolutely Nothing. Storie e sparizioni dei deserti americani (Humboldt/Quodlibet, 2016, with Ramak Fazel). He collaborates with La Repubblica, Il Sole 24 Ore and Il Manifesto. In 2014 he was the Italian Affiliated Fellow in Literature at the American Academy in Rome. He is creative director of Book Pride, the national festival of independent publishing in Milan.
